I love to talk about weddings, and research weddings, and plan weddings, and create decorations and signage for weddings… – especially when they are alternative or non-traditional – and I would LOVE to be YOUR wedding bestie!
Jess is kind, generous, and willing to be a friend during your wedding planning process and beyond. Working with her gave me someone I could bounce ideas off whenever I had inspiration.
Your New Wedding Bestie
I have been based in London since 2013, shortly after receiving my M.A. in History, Art History and English Literature. As part of my education I studied in Ireland for a year and loved it there too. Growing up in a small German town, I still pinch myself from time to time that I get to live and work in one of my favourite cities and still can’t imagine ever getting tired of all the things London has to offer even after over a decade of living here!
I worked in the customer service team for Disney’s online and brick and mortar stores for 6 years before going freelance in 2019 and got to share my love for all things Disney with thousands of customers and colleagues, of which I got to train hundreds for several years.
I am still a Disney adult but not in an annoying way and I can and will talk about a lot of other things. Weddings are obviously one of my favourite topics but I also love reading, movies, travel (though I have had an issue with flying for the last few years and prefer trains or ferries) and listen to podcasts.

I love animals and grew up first with a cat that friends of my parents found as a kitten in a bush and later with our beloved dog that we brought back from a shelter in Spain. For a while I have been getting my kitty cuddles from looking after other people’s cats while they are away but I can’t wait to add a few felines to my own family again soon!
I’ve also always had an interest in aesthetically pleasing things. I loved to create and plan decorations for birthday parties when I was a teenager and I used to work in high end jewellery shops while in university – luckily I had a limited budget so I didn’t buy EVERYTHING I liked! As part of my studies I gave tours in an art museum for a while and was involved in organising the opening evening of an exhibition at the university’s museum.
I can spend hours lusting after beautiful home decor and interior design – have you ever become fascinated by a wallpaper? – and like visiting museums and historical buildings. You should see my Pinterest boards, they are very eclectic!
I am a bit of a geek and pull inspiration for decor and weddings from a lot of different sources like movies, architecture, interior design, books, art and pop culture (I live for the runways on Drag Race!). I also have a strong interest in sustainability, animal protection and environmental conservation. That’s why I try to reduce my carbon footprint as much as possible and choose products that are as environmentally friendly as possible, using locally made/sourced products if available and prefer to reuse, upcycle and recycle.
From Walt to Weddings
At Disney we tried to make the job enjoyable and engaging and as part of that we organized regular “fun days” for the employees. For 4 years I had the joy to plan and organize most of them, including bake sales and silent auctions for charity. Most of the events were themed, usually inspired by Disney films, often timed to coincide with recent releases or anniversaries. As I love crafting, I made most of the decorations for the events myself to keep the budget low.

In 2018, I took 2 courses/workshops by renowned London wedding planner Dominique Douglas for wedding planning and wedding styling and in summer 2021 I was honoured to intern with her and be involved in the organisation and set up of a wedding in Suffolk.
At the end of June 2019, 2 former colleagues of mine, both Italians who met in London at our place of work, got married in Italy and I was able to help them with the set up and decorations in the run up to and on the day of the wedding.

In July 2022 I proposed to my boyfriend of 9 years and we got married in April 2024. Of course I made most of the decorations myself. I love couples that express their personality, their uniqueness, their quirks and the things that they enjoy the most as part of their wedding and that’s exactly what we did with our day! We invited our nearest and dearest and had a lovely, joyfilled small-ish wedding in an independent London Pub.

I hope this gives you an idea of me as a person. If you like this, I’ve got more to show and tell you and would love to hang out. In the meantime, or if you would like to know more, please have a look below.
