Mad Hatter Teaparty

For work events I used to take my inspiration mostly from films. As our campaign had been planning an Open Campaign Day in summer 2016 to give employees from other campaigns the opportunity to come to our office and see what we do and how we work, we wanted to offer food and make it really interesting. We planned the date to fall on a Friday shortly after the release of “Alice Through the Looking Glass” and I started planning a few weeks in advance. A few colleagues helped in the creation of the mobile. I am especially proud of said mobile featuring teapots and teacups. In addition to the bunting and the mobile I created cupcake toppers inspired by playing cards featuring images from Alice in Wonderland and made little “Eat Me” and “Drink Me”tags and attached the latter to little bottles which I filled with water and pink food colouring. The tables were covered by cream coloured lace, playing cards in different sizes, little metal keys, hand-made confetti, clock faces and a chess board. In addition to the main table laden with cupcakes, teacake and anything you would expect at an afternoon tea, we also had a tea and iced tea bar with cookies.

My favourite feedbacks for this event came from one colleague asking if I would plan her wedding and another if I would throw her a baby shower. Pictures of the baby shower can be found here. The wedding actually took place 3 years later and you can find it here!
