S & C contacted me in Spring 2025 looking for support with planning their wedding in early September at Le Gothique, a French restaurant with a courtyard which is licensed for civil ceremonies.
Le Gothique is located in the Grade II listed Royal Victoria Patriotic Building at the edge of Wandsworth Common in Southwest London which was originally built in 1859 in the Gothic Revival Style for orphans and widows of the Crimean War.

S and C found me online and I was intrigued both by their choice of venue as well as their plans for their wedding. Funnily enough, I had actually looked at Le Gothique as a possible location for my own wedding a few years ago.
Because the date of their wedding was only a few months away, we started discussing their plans and ideas for their wedding before I made a calendar with due dates for the different tasks that needed to be done.
I created the design for their welcome sign in Canva and we based off all other on-the-day stationery on this design. The table names were based on S and C’s favourite London parks and paired with an animal, each of which can be found among the diverse London wildlife.

C really wanted to provide their guests with a Victorian puzzle purse as a favour and we spend hours fine-tuning the design to make sure it would look great both closed and opened. We personalised them for each guest with their name, the name of the table they sat at, their choice of meal and a short thank you message from the newlyweds. As the venue also needed the names of each guests, their chosen meal and any allergies easily visible in order to facilitate the serving of the three course plated meal, we added a streamlined place card for each guest.

Some of the research I did for the couple included finding a hair and makeup artist within budget, ensuring they had availability for a trial and on the wedding day, different fabric options as well as dried flowers for the table decor. I also researched dried flower bouquet, button hole and corsage options for the couple and their I-do-Crew.
Over the course of the weeks, S and C also booked me to help with the set up and running of their wedding day based on the detailed timeline we created. They also hired some decor from me which included fairy lights for the tables and the tree that they got married under, amber glass bottles for the dried floral decor and the glasses for the candles.
Ahead of the wedding, Z had told me that she was worried that she would be stressed and worried on the day about everything running smoothly. I made sure that that did not come true and instead she seemed to enjoy herself and the day and came across as very relaxed ahead of the wedding ceremony. Mission accomplished!
